*** 08/04500/F & 04502/LA – Mortimer House, Clifton Down Road

Residential conversion of existing property to incorporate 5 apartments and 2 houses together with a new flatted development of 3 apartments and associated car parking and landscaping work. No decision CAP felt that the new proposals were more or less identical to previous. The flats in the garden are detrimental to setting of Grade II building, and there was general objection to building in the garden, and to tarmac of front. Much concern over interior - need for fully detailed survey of original structure inside and detailed proposals for flats showing how they will respect the original. A full report needed before any work done. Full restoration of windows needed. Scheme too intensive. RLB pointed out the need to protect the Davidia.

*** 08/04286/F & 4287/LC – 21 Waterloo Street

Demolish existing private squash court (Clifton Club) and construction of 2 mews houses. No decision CAP reviewed this reapplication of former plan. Sport England has dropped its objection because the club members can play squash at Clifton! Materials unclear - no real context; no sign of bin store. Houses very small, and very dull. CAP didn’t like it and would repeat former minute.
RLB has written concerning loss of sports facilities, too small for people living in them and no bin store

Creation of vehicular access and formation of parking space in the front garden. No decision
