NEW ITEMS

07/01909/H & 01910/LA – 7 Wetherell Place

Construction of a single-storey extension to rear and re-introduction of external door to side.
CAP accepted that the existing kitchen and the large bay window were previous alterations to the listed building, and that therefore the proposed extension would do no further harm. However, the proposed design with a Georgian/Gothic glazing pattern was not appropriate, and a pure glass construction as the proposed linking panel would be appropriate. Similarly the reinstated door under the verandah must be either properly detailed in a traditional manner or be a high quality contemporary design.

07/02272/F – 111 Princess Victoria Street

Erection of 2 semi-detached cottages on land at rear of 111 Princess Victoria Street
CAP disliked the design which was pure pastiche and would produce two miniature versions of a Clifton terrace. The Panel objected.

07/02313/F – Clifton High School

Replacement of 7 timber dormer windows at 2nd floor level (library building) with UPVC dormer windows to match existing. CAP considered that the existing timber windows to the dormers must be retained and refurbished in keeping with an attractive building in a Conservation Area. The Panel objected to this unsustainable proposal.

07/02099/LA & 02098/F – 31 Royal York Crescent

Structural glass rear extension and enlargement of internal opening
CAP had no objection.

07/02421/F – Polack’s House, 1-3 Percival Road

Change of use from existing boarding house self contained flat and maisonette to 17 flats and 1 house. Removal of upper level of stair to rear extension.

07/02422/F – Polack’s House, 1-3 Percival Road

Demolition of rooflight and re-elevation of eastern, northern and part of western elevation of rear extension. Construction of garden walls.

07/02500/F & 02501/LC – Star Garage, 40A Whiteladies Road

Demolition of existing structures with erection of retail store (Somerfield) at ground floor level with 14 residential units above, over four floors, two covered cycle stores and associated car parking.

07/01648 – Norland House, 33 Canynge Road

Alterations to garden, including removal of wall and levelling of garden.

07/01655/LA – Norland House, 33 Canynge Road

Widening of existing staircase between first and second floors.

07/01657/LA – Norland House, 33 Canynge Road

Internal works comprising formation and widening of doorways, all at garden floor level.

07/01659/LA – Norland House, 33 Canynge Road

Removal and replacement of staircase through garden, ground and first floor.

07/02574/LA – Bristol Zoo Gardens

Demolition of existing shed on the site.

07/02575/F – Bristol Zoo Gardens

Construction of new two storey building comprising education facilities, offices (later to be used as education space), public toilets and external animal enclosures. Existing sheds on the site to be removed (q.v.). Associated external works. Bridge link from new building to existing building.

07/02594/F & 02590/LC – 151 Hotwell Road

Demolition of existing building to provide a mixed use development comprising commercial at the ground floor together with 9 dwellings at first, second, third and fourth floor levels.

07/02645/LA – Litfield House, 1 Litfield Place
