Bristol's Fallen Idol? The iconography of Edward Colson.

Sep 18, 2018

Francis Greenacre will talk to us about Edward Colson, member of the Royal African Company and philanthropist.

We will hear about this intriguing man's midnight funeral, his magnificent tomb, portraits in oil, terracotta, bronze and stained glass, his charities, past and present; and his future.

This promises to be a fascinating talk, both topical and, possibly, controversial.

As usual, the event will take place at the Apostle Room, Clifton Cathedral, Pembroke Road, commencing at 8pm, with doors open at 7.30pm. Coffee, wine and soft drinks will be available. The venue has ample parking and there is a no.8 bus stop nearby.

Members and guests are welcome.
