Bristol University's Plans to close Tyndall Avenue

Feb 14, 2018

The University's application to close this road to traffic and to create what they misleadingly describe as 'an enhanced public realm' has been heavily criticised by BCC's Strategic City Transport department who are recommending that the application be refused.

Many feel that this is an attempt to grab public space and make it part of the university 'campus'. CHIS has objected strongly to the application on a number of grounds, notably traffic congestion, pedestrian safety, and loss of parking spaces.

It is very much hoped that the University will now abandon this selfish and disruptive scheme.
