Bridge Valley Road Viaduct.

Nov 28, 2019

Much to the concern of many local residents, planning consent to build this viaduct was granted in October 2017. CHIS had always opposed these plans, considering that mixed use by pedestrians and cyclists would be hazardous and the infrastructure needed on both sides of Bridge Valley Road unsightly and destructive of trees, shrubs, green space and tranquillity.

Having obtained planning permission, the applicant, Adrienn Tomor, still needed consent under the Commons Act and, at first instance, that consent was refused. CHIS is pleased to report that her subsequent appeal, again strenuously opposed by us, was refused by the Inspector on November 26th.
