I took over the web site in September 2004, and created 16 main sections. It has been an easy way to convey our opinions about all the planning developments in Clifton.

Different sections are the most popular each depending on what has been happening. The pollution section was popular when the refuse collection changed- and pictures of litter bins were very popular! May was dramatic because the BBC listed the CHIS website as fund of knowledge about the railway refurbishment during the first ever open day. Subsequently the usage has settled back but it is still more than April- hopefully because people liked what they saw in May!

Looking at the figures above, they show that since September 2004 there are:

• 7 times as many hits on the web server
• 6 times as many files accessed (this includes images)
• 4 times as many web pages viewed (this excludes graphics)
• 4 times as many visitors requesting a page
• 6 times as many unique visitors (but people on an office network are only included as a single site)
• 11 times as much file size (since there are more images- which tend to be bigger than text files)

I bought a small camera which I could keep in my pocket, and this has proved invaluable since I have had a lot of fun adding pictures to demonstrate points.

• There are now 293 images and 125 readable files which have been added on average 25 per month.
• I have added 48 pictures in the streetscape section- one of the most popular sections, and I will be adding more shortly as a result of testing out a new CHIS walk.
• I have added 10 pictures to the plaques section since I thought it would be interesting to show the houses that these people lived in.

• I added 11 pictures to the parking section to demonstrate bad parking.
• I added 9 pictures to the St Andrews, mostly about railing painting
• From March to November I added 101 Clifton Rocks Railway images to 11 readable files charting the progress of the restoration. These are very popular and have generated useful emails
• People are still looking for the most remarkable things. To begin with, the web pages were found most by people looking for the suspension bridge, but as more content has been added, people have been searching for topical things too, as well as for CHIS itself.

I am very pleased that my efforts have been so well received- both by the increasing access of the web site, and by the emails it has spawned. This site is for the community so I would welcome any feedback on what has been done so far, and what you would like to see.
